Unified Basketball

Unified Sports is a registered program of Special Olympics that combines approximately equal numbers of athletes with and without intellectual disability on sports teams for training and competition.

As Special Athletes and Special Partners train and compete together, they foster ties that develop into friendships both on and off the athletic field.

Tolland High School participated in its inaugural season in Unified Sports in 2010 in the sport of Basketball.

Coached by Beth Regan and Amy Steed as well as volunteer Therese Karmel,   the team practices every Monday and Wednesday after school from December to March and participates in several scrimmages and tournaments as well.

The Eagles host a CAS-CIAC Tournament in March every year.

If your school  has a Unified basketball team, feel free to contact the coaches to set up a scrimmage or game.
