The Tolland High School art department offers students a wide variety of both two-dimensional and three-dimensional courses, encompassing seven studio electives. Students interested in art should begin their studies by enrolling in the art foundation course. After completing this course, students can pursue studio electives with a concentration in a specific area and medium.

The benefits of studying art are many and include strengthening aesthetic literacy, fostering the development of creative/critical thinking skills, opening up career opportunities, and developing an appreciation of the role of the arts in society. In addition, colleges see art as a necessary learning experience and an integral contributor in a student's educational experience, fostering an original and creative thinker.
