Keys to Watching a Good Movie
In order to fully experience and understand a good movie (or novel, play, etc.), you need two things:

1) Willing Suspension of Disbelief:  You need to willingly step into the writer/director's fictional world and stay there for a while.  Try not to be detatched or cynical.

2) Emotional Intelligence:  You need to develop a sophisticated understanding of people and how they work.  Developing emotional intelligence takes two things--empathy and time.
