UConn Early College Experience (ECE) is a concurrent enrollment program that allows motivated high school students to take UConn courses at their high schools for both high school and college credit. Every course taken through UConn ECE is equivalent to the same course at the University of Connecticut. Students benefit by taking college courses in a warm setting that is both familiar and conducive to learning.
High school instructors teaching the UConn ECE courses are UConn certified and are members of UConn's adjunct faculty.
Established in 1955, UConn Early College Experience is the nation's longest running concurrent enrollment program and is nationally accredited by The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP). (from UCONN's ECE site)
UConn Chemistry 1 is UConn's Chem 1127Q course. After successful completion of the course, students are awarded 4 college credits from the University, transferrable to any college that accepts UConn credit. Many Tolland students opt to continue on to UConn Chemistry II, which is UConn's Chem 1128Q course, receiving an additional 4 credits.
