The Technology Education Department prepares students for collegiate and/or advanced vocational/technical programs and equips them with universally transferable technological skills. Students will gain their skills in the four clusters of technology: communications, manufacturing, construction, and power / transportation. This program will help students improve self-esteem, social awareness and critical thinking skills through hands on experiences. Students work with tools, machines, construct projects and be able to communicate effectively, an understanding of technical, managerial, social, historical and cultural aspects of industry. This general goal will be achieved through traditional academic means as well as first hand use of technological production machines and materials in woods, metals, power systems, industrial drawing and graphic arts.
